Heli Bear Glacier Iceberg Boat Tour - Helicopter Flightseeing
This helicopter flightseeing tour includes the 30 minute Bear Glacier flightseeing tour plus landing at Bear Glacier Glamping Camp. After landing you will board a small skiff and head out to explore Bear Glacier Lagoon's icebergs and glacier. Bear Glacier is well known for its large icebergs – some can be 3 or 4 stories high and size of large buildings. Seeing them from the air is special but nothing compares to seeing them up-close from water level. You will be amazed at the beautiful blue colors and will have the opportunity to take some close-up photos of the icebergs and glacier.
Departing Seward our flightseeing tour takes you south over Resurrection Bay along the coast where you may see whales, otters, seals, and a variety of Alaskan sea life. Your pilot will make a turn to Bear Glacier Lagoon that is filled with giant icebergs. Upon landing at the Bear Glacier Glamping Camp we board a small skiff and head out to explore the lagoon by boat to get an up-close view of the icebergs and glacier. The boat tour is about 30 minutes long and gives you enough time to take some incredible photos of the icebergs and glacier.
After exploring the lagoon it's time to boat the helicopter and fly over Bear Glacier, the longest glacier off the Harding Icefield at over 10 miles long. After seeing crevasses and flying over a 2,000 foot thick glacier you will now be traveling through the Kenai Mountain Range. Here we will look for goats and bears. You will notice many additional hanging glaciers in this valley that are all part of the Harding Icefield, the largest icefield in the US. After a bird's-eye view of Exit Glacier we will head back towards Seward flying over the Resurrection River, which feeds right into the Pacific Ocean.
If you desire an Alaska flightseeing adventure that's more then just the standard heli flightseeing tour, this combination of helicopter flightseeing and a boat tour is sure to be the highlight to any Seward visit
