You’ll meet the water taxi boat in Seward’s small boat harbor and after a short 45 minute boat ride out to bear glacier you’ll put on your dry suit. The water taxi will drop you off with your paddleboard just off shore where you will paddle to shore. On most days there will be some small breaking waves on the shoreline you’ll have to paddle through. Our guides will be standing by to help your get up on shore. From here you will carry your paddleboards (SUP) over the narrow old glacier moraine and into the sheltered Bear Glacier lagoon. After a short paddle you’ll encounter the famous giant Bear Glacier icebergs.
Bear Glacier icebergs can be the size of houses with some that can be over 3-4 stories high. Bear Glacier is the only location close to Seward, Alaska that you can experience stand up paddle boarding with icebergs.
