Passenger Tour Bus, Anchorage - Denali Park Motorcoach
Denali Park Bus is the daily park connection bus between Anchorage and Denali National Park. With 2 departures daily, morning (Denali Express), and afternoon (Park to Park), the Denali Park bus trip offers spectacular scenery as you travel the Parks Highway. You will appreciate the comfortable seating, generous legroom, and large picture windows on the custom motorcoaches. The Park Connection's bus driver-guides are knowledgeable about Alaska and provide a casual, relevant commentary on the area you’ll be traveling through. They keep it light, and balance commentary with time to enjoy the peace and scenic wonder of Alaska’s scenery.
Our most popular Denali National Park transportation option is to travel one direction by bus and return by the
Alaska Railroad Denali Star Train, allowing you to take in the scenic vistas of both the highway and rail routes.
Denali National Park is a "must-see" destination for many visitors to Alaska. The motorcoach trip from Anchorage to Denali Park covers about 240 miles and takes about five and a half hours. You depart Anchorage and after passing through the Palmer Hayflats the motorcoach will turn onto the Parks Highway. Once you pass the town of Wasilla, the highway will narrow to two lanes and traffic will lighten. If the weather is clear, watch for views of Mt. Denali and the Alaska Range. The motorcoach will make a brief stop in Talkeetna then continue on to Denali. The route takes you past the Susitna River over the Hurricane Gulch Bridge before passing through Broad Pass, elevation 2,409 feet. Broad Pass is one of the most scenic areas along the Parks Highway Watch for moose and caribou. The motorcoach will continue past the small town of Cantwell before arriving in Denali.
The morning Anchorage departure starts May 30th and departs 6:30am from the Anchorage Egan Center in the Anchorage downtown area. This departure is the "Denali Express" route and is timed to connect with the buses that go to the backcountry lodges near Kantishna at the end of the Denali Park road. These lodges include the Kantishna Roadhouse, the Denali Backcountry Lodge, the North Face Lodge and Camp Denali. The motorcoach drops guests at the Denali Cabins, Denali Park Village, rail depot, Denali Princess Lodge, Grande Denali Lodge, and the Denali
