VISIT 2 NATIONAL PARKS... Kenai Fjords and Denali National Park
Departing from Anchorage, Alaska our Giant Icebergs and Denali Park Tour Package is a 6-day combination of our
Bear Glacier Glamping Camp Sea Kayaking trip and our
4-day Denali National Park Tour. This tour can also be done as a pre- or post-cruise trip. It can start in Seward, AK or be done in the reverse order and end in Seward.
Few locations in Alaska can match the grandeur of our all-Inclusive private Bear Glacier Glamping Camp location. Bear Glacier is well-known, and famous for its giant icebergs; some can be the size of a house and the big ones can be 3 to 4 stories high. Sea kayaking or paddling a stand up paddleboard in the maze of giant icebergs is an awesome Alaska experience. You have the makings for a terrific Alaska vacation. Combine Bear Glacier and a visit to Denali National Park to see the abundant wildlife.
Your trip starts in Anchorage, Alaska where you will board the Alaska Railroad for the scenic rail trip to Seward, Alaska. You will soon discover why National Geographic Traveler ranked the Coastal Classic Train among their top ten train rides in North America. For the best train views, a
Gold Star Dome Seat (first-class seat) upgrade is available. Gold Star seats include meals and drinks on the train.
Once you arrive in Seward you will board a helicopter for a flightseeing tour out to our exclusive Bear Glacier Glamping Camp. Or you can choose to add-on a
Kenai Fjords Whale Watching Glacier Tour before flying to Bear Glacier in the evening. This recommended add-on option enables you to experience the number one tour destination in Seward.
Our camp offers comfortable lodging in custom made 12' X 12' WeatherPort fabric cabins, a fabric tension shelter featuring wood floors and 2 single beds. WeatherPort shelters are used as permanent shelters in remote locations around the world and are proven to offer comfortable lodging in every weather condition from Alaska to Antarctica.
Take a minute to look at our
Bear Glacier Photo Album and just imagine seeing this amazing place in person.
After lunch on the first day, we will get dressed in our dry suits and we’re off to explore Bear Glacier Lagoon and the icebergs. We will spend a few hours kayaking before dinner. That evening you can choose to just relax in camp and enjoy the campfire or go for short hike.
Day 2 is full day at Bear Glacier sea kayaking, or try the stand up paddleboards.
After breakfast on Day 3 you are off for another helicopter flight back to Seward.
At this point, you have the option to add an extra day in Seward to your tour package. Overnight hotel lodging in Seward is $169 per room plus tax. Call and let us know if you would like to add this option to your tour package. There are numerous sights and activities to explore in Seward on your own. Seward is one of Alaska's most picturesque and oldest towns. Seward was voted the #1 U.S. Destination for 2010 in
TripAdvisor.com's annual travel trends survey and it was also the recipient of the National Civic League's All-America City Award in 1963, 1965 and again in 2005.
In Seward you will board a bus going to Denali National Park. The bus will make a stop in Anchorage at the Anchorage Museum where you can get a lunch on your own at the wonderful Museum Cafe and have a chance to visit the museum displays. At 3:00pm board the bus again for your continued trip to Denali National Park. You will arrive in Denali about 8:00pm. Meals in Denali are on own except for lunch that is provided on the Denali Park Bus Tour.
You will have 3 nights in Denali at Denali Rainbow Hotel
On Day 4 you are in for an exciting day visiting Denali Park. At 6:45am, board the private Denali Park Tour Bus for a full day narrated bus tour along the Denali National Park Road to Denali Lodge in Kantishna, returning to the Denali Park entrance in the evening. This Denali Park Bus adventure travels the entire length of the restricted 95-mile Denali Park Road to Kantishna in a private bus. A trained naturalist Guide/Driver provides natural history interpretation along the way, helping guests search for bears, moose, caribou and the other abundant wildlife, while pointing out the biology, geology, and history of the region. If the weather is clear, you may even have a chance to see Denali (also known as Mt. McKinley) the tallest mountain in all of North America, in all its glory.
On the Denali Park Tour Bus, you'll stop along the way for photos and take several rest stops where you can stretch your legs. Snacks and drinks are provided.
At the end of the park road, lunch served in historic Kantishna, founded as a gold mining camp in 1905.
Stretch your legs as you enjoy lunch at the exclusive Kantishna Lodge, located just past Wonder Lake, the jewel of Denali, on the banks of Moose Creek. There you will discover a piece of Alaska’s gold rush history, and enjoy the warm hospitality of the Roadhouse staff as you enjoy a tasty soup, sandwich, fruits, and fresh baked goods. Dietary restrictions are accommodated with advance notice, and there is always a vegetarian option.
After lunch, you will be invited to try your luck at panning for gold in Moose Creek. If you prefer solitude, there are many hiking trails for you to explore or simply put your feet up and relax on the deck of the lodge with a cool drink and immerse yourself in the natural scenery. After lunch and activities, the bus will return to the Denali Park entrance hotels.
As an after lunch add-on option, you can choose to do a flightseeing tour from Kantishna back to the park entrance instead of taking the tour bus ride back to the park entrance.
Day 5 is a free day at Denali. You can elect to just leave this day open for whatever adventure presents itself or choose to add-on one the many other Denali park activities, such as a raft trip, ATV adventure, zipline, flightseeing landing on a glacier on the Mt. Denali, or perhaps learn about dog sledding at a dog sled demonstration. For a complete list of possible activity options, visit our web page:
